20 Amazon Must Haves for the Classroom

I’ll just come out and say it – I am addicted to Amazon… anyone else? It is amazing to having everything you need in one place that ships fast and has reasonable prices.

I have compiled a list of classroom must haves that you can find on Amazon. I have also labeled each item with how much I think you need them.

One star * = If you can get it great, but not a necessity

Two stars ** = Nice to have

Three stars *** = Buy now!

Classroom Supplies

1. Mr. Sketch Markers ***

If you make anchor charts, these markers are a MUST have. I like them better than sharpies and an added bonus- they smell good!

2. Magnetic Erasers **

Super convenient to have. These erasers are magnetic so they can easily stick to the side of students desks. I label mine with class numbers so they don’t get mixed up.

3. Ticonderoga Pencils ***

I swear by these pencils. They are the very best at holding up. Plus they come pre-sharpened which is a huge time saver.

4. Supply Caddies **

I recently switched to tables in my classroom which means my students now share supplies. These supply caddies are great for organizing supplies and color coding each table to match the bin.

5. Dry Erase Sleeves ***

I use these all the time in my classroom for math and reading games. I have also used them during phonics lessons and morning meeting games. They get a lot of use!

Technology Must Haves

  1. Wireless Doorbell ***

If you buy anything from this list, by the doorbell! Such a great way to get students attention without using your voice. I wish I would have found this years ago! I Velcro the back of the doorbell buttons so that I don’t lose them. One is up front by where I teach and the other is at my small group table.

2. Wireless Presenter Remote**

I use a lot of PowerPoint and Google Slide presentations when I am teaching. This remote has been amazing because I can teach from anywhere around the room and don’t have to stay right by my computer.

3. Laminator ***

I was late to jump on the laminator bandwagon and I am so happy I finally did. Even if your school has a laminator like mine does, it is so nice to have your own for summer projects or things you don’t want to wait for to be done.

4. Echo Dot **

The Echo Dot is so fun to have in the classroom. You can ask Alexa to do anything you need. “Alexa play calming piano music, Alexa set a timer, Alexa how do you spell…, Alexa what will the weather be at noon?” Think of all the possibilities!

Classroom Games

I have an extensive list of classroom games and activities on my Friday fun post found here. I tried to focus list list on the academic games my class loves.

  1. Guess in 10**

Similar to 20 questions, this game is great for working on questioning and listening skills. There are several versions of this game. My favorite is the Animal Planet pack.

2. Adsumudi ***

I love this game for working on math facts! It can be differentiated to fit the needs of all your students and you can choose to work on addition, subtraction, multiplication or division facts. They will have so much fun with this game they won’t realize they are learning! I love this game for small groups or interventions.

3. Kanoodle ***

Problem solving and strategic thinking skills are so important for students to develop and Kanoodle can help with that!  Students must decide where the pieces go to complete the puzzle. There are over 200 puzzles challenges in each game.  This game is small and compact which makes it great for indoor recess, Friday fun, or early finishers.

Personal Teacher Essentials

  1. Motivational Water Bottle***

Drinking water is so important and often forgotten as a teacher. This water bottle has really helped me stay on top of my water consumption, plus it is adorable!

2. Yeti for Coffee**

Just as important as a water bottle is something to hold coffee in! I love this Yeti tumbler. Lots of color options. I love the seafoam.

3. Teacher Tee *

I love a good teacher tee and have found so many different shops and places I like to buy from. This Be Kind tee is one of my absolute favorites and because it is from Amazon, it ships fast! Super comfy too!

3. Lunchbox***

As fun as it is to order out lunch at work, it saves a lot of money to bring your own lunch every day. This lunchbox is adorable, fits even bigger containers and is good at keeping things cold or hot depending on what you need. It is also leakproof and has over 1,000 5 star reviews!

4. Backpack**

Unfortunately the work as a teacher doesn’t end at school. I often end up bringing home papers to grade or laminated items to cut. I also haul my laptop back and forth each day. This backpack is perfect for fitting everything I need. Plus it is adorable and has a USB charging port!

Classroom Organization

  1. Sit Spots ***

Such a cheap and easy way to assign seats on the floor when you are teaching a mini-lesson. I love these because they are already numbered!

2. 3-Tier Cart***

This is a must have item for me. I LOVE having this cart next to me during my guided reading and math groups. In my classroom I fill it with math manipulatives, writing utensils, whiteboards and markers, and the books I need for my small group. This one also comes with cups for extra storage!

3. Teacher Toolbox**

I love my teacher toolbox! I fill mine with supplies I need on a daily basis. Rubber bands, paperclips, index card, pushpins, etc. There are so many cute labels for toolboxes on TpT too.

4. 5-Drawer Storage Cart**

These are a little more of a splurge purchase, but have been totally worth it for me. I use mine for paper organization , calendar pieces, stickers, glue, markers, scissors, and miscellaneous items. They have held up well and look adorable. I also have these labels I made in my TpT store that fit perfectly on these carts!
